Build web applications from the screen a user sees to the server and database behind it, working with designers and other developers.

What you will do

  • Build user interfaces with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and connect them to back-end services.
  • Design and build server-side logic, APIs and database structures for web applications.
  • Turn designs and requirements into working, tested features.
  • Review code with teammates and keep the codebase clean and maintainable.
  • Find and fix bugs across the front end, back end and database.
  • Work with designers, project managers and clients to agree what is built and when.

What you need

  • Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and a modern front-end framework such as React.
  • Experience building back-end services in a server-side language such as Node.js, PHP or Python.
  • Working knowledge of databases, for example MySQL or MongoDB, and of REST APIs.
  • Comfort with Git and with working in a team.
  • Clear communication and a habit of asking when something is unclear.

Nice to have

  • Experience deploying and hosting applications.
  • Experience writing automated tests.
  • A portfolio or code samples of projects you have built.
